The Midtown Service and Treatment Center (MSTC) is looking for someone who is driven by wanting to help others achieve their goal of creating a better life for themselves. We have an opening for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Senior Billing Clerk.

The Senior Billing Clerk is responsible to assist the Billing Manger with billing for all contract, insurance and private pay billing services provided by the Midtown Service and Treatment Center (MSTC). The Billing Clerk is expected to be proficient in use of the Department of Mental Health electronic system, CMIOR and the electronic medical record system, Credible, utilized by the MTSC. Position is expected to comply with and meet The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies, and standards.

Responsibilities:



  1. Manage billing functions in CIMOR, EHR and collection system. File claims for all third-party payers and apply payments for services.
  2. Perform daily and monthly audits on all services provided by the Program Staff. Provide weekly updates and monthly reports to direct supervisor.
  3. Be familiar with required contract compliance items, notifying supervisor of any discrepancies or problems.
  4. Provide detailed information as requested by the state and all auditing and review entities.
  5. Perform interim coverage in the absence of the Billing Manager, Business Clerk, or the Office Manager..
  6. Serve as part of a team that performs Tree of Light's functions during fall/winter.
  7. Attend weekly or bi-weekly staff meetings, per department procedures.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and comply with Safe From Harm guidelines.
  10. Maintain positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner, courteous treatment of clients, staff, visitors, and volunteers; respect of others person and property; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers, and supervisors.


Minimum Qualifications:

High school or equivalent diploma plus two (2) years related experience required. Additional office training (certifications) or related college courses preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and online billing system/databases. CIMOR experience is a plus. Position requires professional communications with clients and staff. CPR/First Aid certification must be obtained in first 90 days. Annual TB test required per TSMSTC Policy. Must be a team player, a self starter, and perform well with minimal supervision.
