Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

The Configuration Management Database Architect and Administrator owns the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the Configuration Management Database. This includes manual collection, validation, and loading of asset and configuration item data into the ServiceNow CMDB. This role ensures data accuracy and completeness in environments where automated discovery may be limited due to security constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement CMDB data model including configuration item (CI) classes, attributes, and relationships
  • Establish data governance policies, quality metrics, and reconciliation rules for CMDB integrity
  • Collect asset information from infrastructure teams, asset inventories, and documentation sources across both enclaves
  • Manually create and update configuration items (CIs) in ServiceNow including servers, network devices, applications, and databases
  • Validate asset data accuracy by cross-referencing multiple sources and conducting verification sessions with technical SMEs
  • Build and maintain service maps, and dependency views for critical business services
  • Develop integration strategies for external asset repositories and third-party data sources
  • Support change management, incident management, and problem management processes with accurate CI data
  • Train users on CMDB navigation, CI relationships, and data maintenance procedures
  • Create and maintain documentation for data collection procedures, field definitions, and data validation standards
  • Generate CMDB health reports, completeness, and accuracy metrics reports for stakeholders and leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow CMDB certification (CIS-CMDB or CIS-SAM) strongly preferred
  • 3+ years hands-on CMDB design and administration experience
  • Strong understanding of IT asset management and configuration management principles
  • Experience with data modeling, entity-relationship design, and data quality management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with infrastructure, security, and application teams
  • Experience with ITIL configuration management processes and asset lifecycle management
  • Active security clearance or ability to re-qualify immediately

Workplace Options:
This position can be a minimum of three days on-site or fully on-site.
While on-site, you will be a part of the SDA team located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Target salary range: USD $118,519.00/Yr. - USD $131,482.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
