Certified Medical Coders - Inpatient (000296)

We are seeking experienced certified medical coders to join our team in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate must possess proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, ICD 9 CM, CPT 4, and Encoder. A strong understanding of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, federal billing guidelines, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes is essential. The ability to research coding-related issues and competence in coder training is required. Experience with CCS and 3M/HDS coding applications is necessary, with a background in both inpatient and emergency department coding.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, and certifications from AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, CCP, or CCS.

• Three years of experience with ICD10 knowledge.
• Experience with EPIC and 3M systems.
• CCS or CCP certification required from AHIMA, RHIA, or RHIT.
• Inpatient and outpatient coding experience is ideal.
• Previous experience working with Clinical Documentation Specialists.

This role begins with 1-2 weeks of onsite training, after which it transitions to remote work. The hiring manager is flexible with the training schedule. Candidates should be able to work with minimal training.

The position starts onsite for training, then moves to remote work once duties are mastered. We are looking for certified coders with a strong inpatient coding background.
