Gas Pipeline Inspector - Kearny, NJ

We are seeking a qualified Gas Pipeline Inspector to provide inspection services for natural gas distribution and transmission projects.

Must have experience providing inspections for natural gas projects. Additional experience with infrastructure or heavy industrial projects is preferred.

Responsibilities will include keeping a daily log of all construction activities, collecting and maintaining all field generated records, and providing support services involving construction activities. The construction Inspector, with assistance from will document all welding including weld mapping/heat # tracking, material verification, and Material Test Reports.

    Perform inspections to verify construction is completed in adherence with approved codes, laws ordinances, regulations, and standards
  • Validate contractor compliance with safety procedures
  • Review change orders and RFIs
  • Maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive records related to inspection activities
  • Review complex engineering documents to ensure construction compliance
  • Interface with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients through participation in project meetings and daily site interaction
  • Review welder and operator qualifications
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Qualifications:

    • Current NACE and/or CWI certificate desired.
    • Must possess 5+ years of experience providing inspections for gas pipelines.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications and calculations and verify contractor compliance with approved documents.
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and act as a "team player" with clients and co-workers.
    • Must be able to work independently and consistently meet deadlines.
