Within Beazley: CIO, other senior IT Leads, Head of PMO/VRF, Enterprise Architect, Other Product/Project Managers, Commercial Management, Information Security, External Suppliers.

Job Summary:

The Senior Product Manager is accountable for the technology roadmap, design, development, enhancement, delivery, and budgeting across multiple products. Ensuring alignment with the strategy, objectives and key results (OKRs). The role ensures that the technology is developed and maintained using sound business and technology management practices and it supports business transformation by enabling new capabilities and growth. Using agile and product methods to ensure the delivery of the right thing, whilst working in collaboration with the delivery team and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-end Delivery & Execution

  • Own end-to-end delivery of all product initiatives, ensuring alignment from discovery through deployment and ongoing optimisation.

  • Define clear delivery outcomes, success measures and release plans in partnership with Product, Change, Engineering and business stakeholders.

  • Lead prioritisation and execution across the delivery lifecycle, balancing strategic objectives with operational needs.

  • Ensure teams remove blockers, maintain delivery momentum and operate with high transparency on progress, risks and dependencies.

  • Champion agile ways of working, continuous delivery and automation to accelerate time to value.

  • Oversee quality assurance, testing and release management to ensure secure, high-quality, production ready outputs.

  • Drive postlaunch monitoring, analytics and continuous improvement to maximise product value and performance.

Strategy and Business Management

  • Develops a strategic multi product roadmap ensuring alignment to the OKRs, business plan and strategic target architecture.

  • Consults with underwriters and customers of the digital systems to assess and anticipate current and future requirements developing multiyear plans.

  • Collaborates with all key stakeholders to continually optimize the governance and decision-making processes, always considering run, grow and transform activity.

  • Builds and attracts technology talent for the team both internally and externally.

  • Collaborates with the digital leadership team to determine the right cost and resourcing model and facilitates demand planning and management conversations.

Budget Management

  • Collaborates with the digital leadership team and Digital Channel Owner to make funding and resource reallocation decisions.

  • Responsible for the channel budget including run, growth and transform, makes informed and dynamic investment prioritization decisions supported by data.

Technology Management

  • Coordinates with Group Technology teams, Information Security, Data Management and IT architects to align and maximise synergies in the end state architecture.

  • Oversees all digital channel technology operations and guides continuous improvement efforts to support performance, security, availability and usability.

  • Defines, tracks, and communicates channel specific key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve the channels adoption, performance, and total user experience.

  • Collaborates with the other Senior/Product Managers to avoid duplication of work and identify interdependencies.

  • Manages and builds effective vendor relationships using the group vendor management framework, also develops strategic relationships to align the vendor products and services with Beazley Digitals strategy and OKRs.

  • Implements industry standards and development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, Info Sec and Modern Data Architecture within the channel to ensure its operational resilience and agility.

Digital Transformation

  • Acts as the senior technology point of contact for the portfolio of products and works closely with all cross functional teams in the continual transformation of our process and operating model.

  • Collaborates within and outside of the team to transition technology innovation or new insurance products into the channel to bring enterprise scale wherever feasible.

  • Recommends business process, commercial and user experience changes for better channel adoption.

  • Applies expertise in design thinking, data science and customer journey mapping to deliver end to end customer journeys that holistically drive the channels improvement and value.

  • Identifies and evangelizes business and technology trends that can improve the products and delivery of the OKRs in the mid to long term.

  • Contributes to embedding digital opportunities in the Beazley Digital business strategy to help drive premium growth, operational efficiency or reducing our risk.

  • Maintain transparent and effective communication through department meetings, one-to-one meetings, email etc.

  • Encourage knowledge sharing and effective delegation to minimise key person dependencies.

  • Work with other team managers ensuring team resources overall are effectively utilised and people are appropriately challenged.

  • Encourage direct reports to think proactively about their careers, signposting development and stretch opportunities for strong performers where possible.

  • Work with Talent Management as appropriate to escalate performance concerns ensuring set objectives are clear and measurable and progress is tracked accordingly.

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups.

Personal Specification:

Education and Qualifications

  • Product management or product owner certification desirable but not essential

  • Agile certification desirable but not essential

Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of business strategy

  • The ability to think strategically and develop a strategic product roadmap

  • Ability to work in partnership with stakeholders across the organization

  • Experience in change management, with the ability to understand and advise on how to implement process, technology and people changes will minimizing delivery risks

Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous experience in technology

  • Previous experience in budget management (managing budgets in excess of $5m)

  • Previous experience of delivering multiple, complex IT projects, preferably covering the use of internal resources, third party (packaged) solutions and outsourced services

  • Previous experience of delivering non-IT projects, including experience around people change management

  • Previous experience of the use of various analysis and delivery frameworks covering scope definition, planning, budgeting, reporting, management of risks and issues

  • Previous experience working with an Agile methodology preferred

  • Previous experience building and maintaining effective working relationships

  • Previous experience managing a team

Salary for this role will be tailored to the successful individual's location and experience. The expected compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $185,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus.
