Parker Meggitt (Securaplane) a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Oro Valley, AZ, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier of camera systems, energy storage products, and security systems in aerospace markets. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier, Embraer, and Textron, among others

Assembler 2

Position Summary

The Assembler 2 position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work and minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment

Responsibilities

  • Cut, prepare and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, apply conformal coat, marking and adhesive bonding

  • Follow written and verbal instructions

  • Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, under direct and/or limited supervision

  • Perform a variety of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures

  • Conduct inspections of own and/or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawing

  • Minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment, as needed
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to 5S standards

  • Maintain an acceptable safety record

  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

  • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures

  • Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings as required

  • Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking about in-door Company facilities

  • Lift and Carry up to 35 lbs

  • Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side

  • Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf

  • Use hand tools, power tools and electric soldering gun

  • Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands

  • Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded

  • Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling

  • Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces

  • Typing with computer and keyboard

Qualifications

  • Good mechanical aptitude

  • Able to operate a variety of hand tools and light machinery

  • Capable of performing basic mathematics

  • Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedure

  • Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts

  • Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks

  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills

Education & Experience

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Certifications: N/A

Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of prior related work experience in an electrical/avionics manufacturing/testing environment or completed OJT training for at least 5 products
