Description

The Leidos Civil NISC IV program is hiring for an IT Specialist support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Oklahoma City, OK. The candidate will be working with a team of computer/electronics professionals fixing/upgrading desktop/network systems. This position will be responsible for supporting the Academy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide deployment support for local area networks, servers, and personal computers.
  • Create and Coordinate imaging requests with ESC for Classroom PCs and Tablets.
  • Provide support in the managing of computer operations on a large-scale computer system or a multi-server local area network.
  • Provide detailed assistance in the installation, configuration, maintenance, administration, and operation of software and hardware for classroom environments,
  • Provide support for conference rooms and classroom setup network/wireless configuration, installation of cables, and ensure proper classroom equipment layout.
  • Provide installation support, as required by the manufacturer as well as configuration management to ensure all systems perform as designed.
  • Provide support in the testing and configuring of software as well as maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices; including the setup of docking stations, peripherals, and map drives as needed.
  • Setup testing labs for prototyping innovations/changes for, but not limited to, PCs, Tablets, VDI, and software applications.
  • Build stand-alone FAA systems for labs.
  • Contact Dell to get warranty parts and then install them and return old back to Dell.
  • Provide scheduled upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work; Download and install updates and patches on all AMA-400 servers.
  • Add/remove Conference Room/Classroom/Lab devices on the domain to/from Active Directory.
  • Provide permissions management of AMA-400 share folders, such as adding/removing employees to Active Directory groups.
  • Update and maintain VDI capabilities to support various classroom and user configurations.
  • Update, ensure integrity, and perform space management on AMA-400 servers and VDI master images.
  • Create/Archive VDI-specific scheduled offerings groups/folders and ensure instructors and students have VDI profiles established and removed as needed.
  • Ping computers daily to monitor network access. Provide support by investigating, reporting, and remedying the issue.
  • Develop procedures and documentation for computer systems, and training materials for the use of hardware/software.
  • Research and recommend solutions for, but not limited to, VDI and Classroom PC issues as they arise.
  • Provide support for and demonstrate the use of plotters, printers, and scanners. Request and replace relevant supplies, including, but not limited to, waste toner cartridges for such equipment. Maintain an inventory of supplies/consumables to ensure availability for equipment use.
  • Perform IT equipment inventories, providing updates to a live, consolidated list. Track obsolescence and prepare evaluations of software and hardware. Recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.
  • Work with the property manager regarding IT devices on inventory to include, but not limited to, receiving, distributing, relocating, and excising.
  • Perform hard drive removals for IT equipment ready for excising.
  • Provide support to management with briefings and status of projects, problems, or other outstanding project-related issues.
  • Monitor and maintain event logs and research issues related to system access.
  • Support large wall-mounted displays with touch capability, integrate new and legacy technologies, manage matrix switch systems, and perform equipment removal and replacement.
  • Reconfigure overhead, underfloor, and cable track cabling to support classroom layout changes, including lifting and replacing heavy floor tiles.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience. However, additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Able to lift and move heavy equipment (75lbs)
  • Technical skills to include network wiring runs, cable ends, etc.
  • VDI skills
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability.
  • Must be either a US Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FAA IT environment experience
