Job Description




As a Security Officer Flex - Armed Financial Patrol in District Heights, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. You will patrol assigned areas, maintain a highly visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. This role calls for an armed guard card/license, strong customer service, and teamwork grounded in integrity, reliability, and innovation, while helping people feel supported through every interaction.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a financial services location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, exterior, and perimeter, monitoring for unusual activity and conditions that may help to reduce risk.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access points; control entry and validate identification and/or authorization for restricted areas such as cash handling and operations spaces.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or law enforcement as needed.
  • Complete shift logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and follow Allied Universal post orders and all applicable weapons handling and storage requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
