The AP is seeking a self-motivated administrative assistant (AA) professional to provide general admin support for news/photo managers and their direct reports. This temporary position will work closely with other Administrative Assistants to ensure the timely completion of various assignments, including payment invoices and staff scheduling. The AA professional will provide financial control support, including the processing of stringer/freelancer payment invoices and expense reports. They will also handle confidential information relating to news operations and human resources, including the processing and review of time sheets using SAP.

What you will do:



  • Prepare and analyze spreadsheets, create presentations and program materials, and prepare postal and electronic mailings.
  • Processes photo and sports stringer payment invoices.
  • Assist with payroll-related tasks, such as scheduling, approval and attendance records.
  • Organize and coordinates meetings and schedules for individuals and groups and make travel and accommodation arrangements for the management team and other employees.
  • Receive and direct visitors, answer telephones and direct calls as appropriate.
  • Handle correspondence and filing; orders and maintain supplies; may be asked to run job-related errands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Who you are:



  • Candidates should have demonstrated excellence as an administrative assistant, including the ability to work with minimal supervision to initiate and complete tasks.
  • Have a proven record of strong attention to detail and show a history of adept problem solving.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as an administrative or marketing assistant or similar position. Some college preferred.
  • Command of Windows-based computers and the Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Ability to work professionally and constructively with vendors, members and staff at all levels, and display a professional image at all times.
  • Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory.

Location

This position follows a hybrid work model based in AP's Atlanta offices. AP employees are on-site three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This temporary position will end December 31, 2026, with a salary based on years of professional experience and the job candidate's skills and qualifications. Employees are eligible to participate, according to the terms of the official plan documents, in a 401(k) plan and employer-sponsored health insurance plan and are eligible for paid time off and holidays in accordance with AP policy.
