Job Summary: The Branch Manager is responsible for providing direction, supervision, and career planning for all branch retail personnel. This position also contributes to the overall profitability and growth of the Bank by selling and servicing all Bank products and services to new and existing customers. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to assigned branch, overseeing retail activities and banking systems.
- Maintain sufficient, skilled retail staff by scheduling appropriate employees and providing ongoing training and cross-training opportunities.
- Review job performance on an ongoing basis, perform annual reviews, assist in career development, and perform or advise on needed disciplinary actions.
- Actively solicit and open new accounts and products while cross-promoting lending services.
- Meet with each customer relationship totaling over $250 thousand in deposits annually to discuss concerns, account changes, and evaluate additional opportunities.
- Devote 25% of time to meet with current and prospective customers.
- Participate in establishing and evaluating sales practices and procedures.
- Ensure the Bank's Core Values are upheld by maintaining a cohesive and positive working environment.
- Conduct regular branch meetings and communicate retail sales objectives, goals, and results in conjunction with or in the absence of the Retail Sales Manager.
- Attain or exceed all annual goals established for increased growth in deposits, products, and other goals set by management.
- Perform as Universal Banker when needed to ensure proper coverage.
- Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Provide regular written and verbal performance reports to management.

- Manage and support direct reports by making sound hiring decisions, training each new hire and current staff as needed, and continually mentoring staff to assist in their success.
- Address performance and behavior issues with Human Resources and follow through with appropriate action.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to travel between Rock Island branches as necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough understanding of customer service and bank products/services.
- Extensive knowledge of fundamental mathematics, banking systems, and data processing systems.
- Excellent leadership, management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven analytical skills.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.
- Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- 5+ years of retail sales and/or banking experience required.
- 2+ years of supervisory/management experience required.
- Bi-lingual preferred.
Equipment/Software:
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Finastra Phoenix, Finastra Fusion ECM, SharePoint, BankTEL, and ProSign preferred.
