Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Westlake, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will complete routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible, and help to discourage security-related incidents. You will support access points, observe and report unusual activity, and provide professional customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, tank farms, loading or unloading areas, parking areas and perimeter routes, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns per site procedure.
  • Control access by verifying identification and/or authorization at designated entry points, maintaining visitor logs, and directing deliveries and contractors to approved locations per site requirements.
  • Monitor alarms, CCTV and/or other security-related systems, respond to alerts and incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public responders as directed.
  • Complete detailed written reports and shift logs, document incidents, hazards and/or maintenance concerns, and assist with investigations by preserving information and following chain of command.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have access control and badge experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
