As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a government courthouse location, you will support daily operations through access control and visitor screening, verify credentials, issue and manage badges, and guide guests with professional customer service. You will complete routine patrols and documented checks to help maintain a visible presence and identify unusual activity, while communicating clearly with staff and local partners. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government facility.
  • Staff access control points by greeting entrants, verifying identification and/or credentials, managing sign-in processes, and directing visitors to appropriate areas while following post orders.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, operate screening and access control equipment as required, and help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining a consistent presence and attention to detail.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate personnel and documenting events per site requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, public corridors, and the facility perimeter as required to identify unusual conditions and report maintenance and/or security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
