Security Officer - Mixed-Use Patrol

As a Security Officer - Mixed-Use Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support guests and tenants with clear communication, incident response, and reporting while using technology to document activity. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a retail shopping location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and/or requests for assistance from management or local authorities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, corridors, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and high-traffic areas, observe for suspicious behavior, and provide directions and assistance to visitors while maintaining a professional presence.
• Complete detailed reports and logs of patrol activity, incidents, and daily observations, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
