BBSI reported gross billings of $9.0 billion in 2025 and is experiencing steady growth. We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team at our corporate office located in Vancouver, Washington.

Position Summary: Partial hybrid work offered

The primary objective of the Staff Accountant is to support the accounting department with accounting-related projects and system enhancements, treasury activities, month-end close duties, and SEC reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform ad hoc duties and special projects, including accounting systems maintenance, system implementations, and system enhancements.

* Assist with preparation of SEC reporting tasks, including roll forwards and preparation of Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and other SEC filings.

* Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations.

* Support the delivery of information to external auditors for SOX testing, quarterly reviews, and annual audits.

* Maintain established accounting procedures and adequate internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

* Exercise considerable judgment to resolve accounting matters with minimal supervision.

* Proficient in GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and SEC reporting.

* High degree of responsibility and ownership.

* Strong attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and provide in-depth analysis and recommendations using critical thinking and sound judgment.

Special Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

* Public accounting experience preferred.

* Comprehensive knowledge of accounting for payroll processing.

* Experience with DFIN ActiveDisclosure or similar SEC filing software preferred.

* 1-3+ years of accounting experience.

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

* Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a similar large ERP system.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The starting salary for this position is between 80k-100k. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography, skills, education, experience, certifications, and other qualifications of the candidate.

This position is also eligible for annual incentive pay equal to 8-10% % of annual regular pay, prorated in the first year, in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.

Paid Time Off: Accrued sick leave of 1 hour for every 40 hours of work, with maximum based on state or regional requirements; vacation accrues up to 80 hours in the first year, up to 120 hours in years 2-4, and up to 160 hours in the fifth year; 6 paid holidays annually, 4 paid volunteer days annually.
