As a Security Officer - Ground Patrol near Bryant Park, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy public-facing location, where you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors with calm, professional customer service. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and respond to concerns with integrity while working as part of an agile, reliable team that puts people first.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patrons and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a public library location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including conflicts, medical situations, and/or policy violations, and notify site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout reading rooms, entrances, stacks, restrooms, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access points, observe for unusual activity, and help to deter prohibited behavior while supporting a welcoming environment for library visitors.
• Complete required documentation such as incident reports, daily activity logs, and/or shift pass-down information, and communicate relevant updates to the Allied Universal supervisor and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
