Job Description




As a Security Officer - Riverwalk Patrol in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, guest concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, exhibit areas, public spaces, back-of-house corridors, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or potential threats, completing required logs and incident reports in a clear and timely manner.
  • Support artifact and exhibit protection by observing visitor behavior, helping to maintain orderly lines and crowd flow, and enforcing site rules in a respectful, customer-focused way.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ Years of Age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
