Inside the Role

The Aftermarket Revenue and Warranty Accounting Supervisor plays a key role in the accounting group. Key responsibilities include accounting for key aftermarket programs, including extended warranty, connectivity services, and other service-based products, as well as involvement in DTNA-wide cost-of-quality initiative. Another core responsibility is providing accounting oversight for the base warranty process, which includes serving as the primary liaison for rate-planning cycles, validating data integrity, reviewing vendor recovery calculations, and ensuring accurate financial treatment. Additional duties include researching and interpreting technical accounting guidance, preparing and analyzing P&L and balance sheet accounts, supporting period-end close activities, and maintaining internal controls. This role provides financial insights to Accounting management, key stakeholders in Aftermarket Controlling and Quality, and the external audit team.

Position offers a starting salary range of$95,000 - $121,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Performs general accounting activities, including preparation, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and reporting of ledger accounts, accounting transactions, and financial statements.
  • Ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable accounting policies and principles (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS).
  • Analyzes the impact of new accounting standards, reporting requirements, and regulatory changes on existing and new transactions.
  • Performs analysis of profit-and-loss statements (P&L), balance sheet accounts, and capital expenditure schedules.
  • Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects, including process narratives, technical memos, and audit-ready support.
  • Serve as the accounting lead for key aftermarket programs, including but not limited to extended warranty, connectivity services, and other recurring revenue or service-based offerings.
  • Lead the accounting oversight for Base Warranty, including: Acting as the primary liaison for base warranty rate planning cycles (three times per year), ensuring data integrity and validating that proposed rate adjustments are accurately calculated and appropriately recorded, reviewing and confirming the accuracy of vendor recovery calculations and related accounting entries.
  • Serve as the technical accounting lead for Aftermarket, providing research, interpretation, and recommendations on complex accounting topics, including revenue recognition, cost accruals, contract modifications, and multi-element arrangements.
  • Drive continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, proactively identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance data quality, strengthen controls, and increase the value the team delivers to the business.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Aftermarket Operations, Warranty, Pricing, Sales, FP&A, and other Accounting teams to ensure alignment, transparency, and timely resolution of accounting issues.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited university/college required
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience required.
  • Current knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
  • Ability to lead or supervise department projects or work streams within broader projects.
  • Act as an advisor to management and key stakeholders on job field related projects.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (IIA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
  • CPA firm experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills related to Power BI and/or other data analytic tools.
  • Experience with SAP accounting systems
