Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The Regional Sales Director will lead and develop a team of Commercial/Retail Inside Sales Managers and Account Managers across 3 sales offices, to drive revenue growth and achieve strategic objectives. This role is responsible for strategic planning, team development, performance management, leadership, and product knowledge to foster a culture of excellence and achieve sales budgets and objectives

Strategic Planning

  • Oversee the management of Commercial/Retail Sales teams to create and maintain territory sales plans and pipeline opportunity creation
  • Collaborate with Commercial/Retail Inside Sales Managers to formulate strategic sales plans, establishing clear goals and objectives.
  • Analyze sales activities regularly to identify opportunities for improvement and assist sales reps in reaching their targets.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, optimizing time and resource utilization.
  • Work alongside Sales Executives to roll out training and incentive programs.
  • Implement company strategy and translate it into actionable initiatives for the team.
  • Coach & guide Sales managers to assess sales competencies and build strategic relationships.

Team Development

  • Cultivate a positive and motivating team atmosphere.
  • Coach and inspire the sales teams in 3 Sales offices (WI, NJ and NV) to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Build strong relationships with team members to foster trust and confidence.
  • Establish clear performance objectives with sales managers, articulating responsibilities and expectations transparently.
  • Promote continuous professional development through training and resources.
  • Foster an open environment for discussing challenges and collaboratively finding solutions.

Performance management

  • Set daily goals that establish clear performance standards and expectations for the team.
  • Manage individual performance based on established objectives, providing timely feedback and coaching.
  • Partner with Sales Managers to ensure accountability for quality, quantity, and timeliness standards.

Leadership

  • Provide effective leadership by creating a positive and productive work environment.
  • Communicate the company vision and overall sales objectives clearly, emphasizing individual contributions to success.
  • Lead with integrity, fairness, creativity, and assertiveness.
  • Be an accessible resource for the team, assisting in issue resolution and alternative solution identification.

Product Knowledge

  • Understanding of Global Equipment Company's Industry and products.
    • Knowledgeable of GEC's market strategy, competitive landscape, unique value proposition, how we compete and win in the market, and our financial metrics.
    • Keep current with competitor's activities and industry changes that affect product sales information.
    • Understand how to improve sales team's ability to spot emerging customer opportunities.
Competencies and skills
  • Extensive Leadership Experience: 5 to 8 years of progressive remote leadership experience in a sales environment, preferably in the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sector.
  • Team Management Expertise: Proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing team of sales professionals in a Business-to-Business (B2B) context, with a strong focus on sales or remote team leadership.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Advanced mathematical skills with expertise in financial analysis, including the ability to calculate and interpret percentages, profit margins, and net income effectively.
  • Results-Driven Mindset: Demonstrated self-motivation and discipline, with a strong commitment to achieving and exceeding organizational sales goals.
  • Organizational Excellence: Exceptional organizational, administrative, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Track Record for Success: A solid record of consistently exceeding sales targets and quotas in a competitive market environment.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Superior verbal and written communication abilities, with proven skills in presentation, negotiation, and influencing at all levels of the organization.
  • Technological Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access), along with familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
