Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about excellence and accuracy in accounting processes including accounts payable, billing, general ledger work and travel expense reimbursement processing.

The selected candidate will work on site at our office in Huntsville, AL. The person in this role will be responsible for accounts payable processing, invoicing and collections, bank and general ledger account reconciliations and travel expense reimbursement processing for our joint venture accounting operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to help us advance our joint venture accounting capabilities and drive profit through process improvement and efficiencies. This role will require a wide range, proven skillset of accounting, government contracting and FAR knowledge. In this role, the candidate must be able to perform core duties to meet current and emerging joint venture accounting needs.

What You'll Do



  • Responsible for the supporting and performing core accounting functions, month end financial close and additional company accounting efforts as needed.
  • Performing transactions in Deltek Costpoint and ADP accounting systems
  • Maintaining good relationships with vendors, internal and external customers to maintain smooth and timely process completion
  • Support the accounts payable function including timely submission and approval of vouchers, check/ACH preparations and activity prior to approval by Controller and/or Director of Finance and Accounting
  • Support the monthly revenue billing function including resource assignment, backups, monthly approvals required, coordination of Cost Point set ups and collaboration with BD and Contracts functions
  • Support of Travel & Expense function, problem resolution and coordination with monthly revenue billing
  • Support of accounting for JV operations
  • Support of timely month end closing schedule and processes including journal entries and reconciliations as required
  • Support internal, DCAA and external Accounting Audit efforts and ICS submissions as led by the Director of Finance and Accounting


Travel: This position does not require travel.

Requirements and Qualifications



  • Associate's degree in accounting or related business field required; bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years government contract accounting experience
  • Minimum of 3 years Deltek Costpoint experience
  • Prior experience in multiple facets of accounting operations
  • Prior experience and knowledge of FAR and DCAA compliance
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
