CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Water/Wastewater Business Lead to join our Water Team in Buffalo, NY, where you'll provide seniorlevel leadership across complex water, wastewater, and stormwater initiatives. In this role, you'll guide project delivery, mentor and support technical teams, and partner closely with clients to advance resilient, regulatorydriven infrastructure solutions. This is an opportunity to influence technical direction, elevate delivery standards, and help shape sustainable water systems that protect public health and support longterm community growth-while playing a key role in strengthening client relationships and expanding CHA's impact across the region.



What You'll Do:

    Lead the planning, design and delivery of complex water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects including treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Manage all aspects of project delivery including scope, budget, schedule, and client relationships, while thoroughly understanding project risks and financial measures
  • Serve as a "seller/doer," developing strategic client relations and cultivating new opportunities
  • Prepare proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations, and project closeout documents
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to QA/AC procedures, contract requirements and company standards
  • Play a key role in client contract interpretation and relationship management, ensuring all client needs are met
  • Provide office and practice leadership by mentoring engineers and project managers, supporting staff development, and fostering a collaborative, high performing team environment


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience in water, wastewater and stormwater; minimum of 8 years of project management experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Expert knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems, conveyance infrastructure, and regulatory compliance with a proven ability to apply best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, and Deltek Vision preferred
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and oversee project accounting processes
  • Experience preparing proposals and project documentation as well as interpreting client contracts
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $185,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
