About Rivendell

Rivendell is a 149 inpatient psychiatric hospital located in the heart of Bowling Green, KY on a 49 acre campus. At Rivendell Behavioral Health Hospital, children who are in crisis receive psychiatric care. Teens suffering from depression, disabling anxiety, feelings of hopelessness or suicide can learn new ways to cope. Teens and adults suffering from chemical dependency and substance abuse can get help.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Scheduling Coordinator consults with Director of Nursing, Program Managers and Nurse
Managers to accommodate unit staffing needs. Fills staff vacancies and posts schedules in
advance maintaining appropriate staff to patient ratios. Completes staffing reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: At least 45 credit hours (3 semesters) completed in continuing undergraduate study
in Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Counseling or related field or completion of a related
vocational/technical degree program plus one year recent related experience

Training and Experience: Certain skills and experiences may serve as meeting position
requirements with managerial approval. Must have demonstrated organizational skills and have
the ability to maintain/update computerized staffing schedule. Must also possess excellent
communication skills and have the ability to work effectively with others.

Knowledge Required: Must be able to communicate clearly and legibly in writing. Must
maintain respectful communications with all persons in the performance of job responsibilities.
May be exposed to patients who exhibit aggressive behavior.


Qualifications

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepares work schedules and assignments for Mental Health Associates and RN staff as
required by Director of Nursing, Program Managers, and Nurse Managers.
2. Receives scheduling requests from staff, including PTO and sick leave requests.
3. Updates master schedule as needed and communicates staffing vacancies to Director of Nursing,
Program Managers, Nurse Manager and Human Resources Director.
4. Ensures for filling all staff vacancies on all units and communicating staff scheduling issues
immediatley with Program Managers.
5. Completes records in attendance and tardiness and notifies supervisors of any break of policy
on a weekly basis.
6. Completes variance and time sheets daily. Works closely with Payroll Coordinator to ensure
timesheets are submitted correctly and in a timely fashion.
7. Provides direct care to patients as needed and maintains certifications and trainings to remain
compliant.
8. Completes Patient Satisfaction Surveys, working in conjunction with management and other
staff to ensure surveys are completed in timely manner and data entry is accurate and timely.
9. Will adhere to all safety policies and safe work practice.
10. Will attend hospital safety trainings.
11. Will adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
12. Report all accidents immediately and provide effective timely corrective action on all
accidents.
