Description

OVERVIEW: Perform classification, feature extraction and mapping from processed LIDAR data.

DURING YOUR WORK DAY, YOU WILL:



  • Perform classification, feature extraction and mapping from processed LIDAR data.
  • Work with point cloud data collected by airborne and/or mobile methods.
  • Extract 2d and 3d information from the data and generate CAD mapping for delivery.
  • Perform general CAD tasks including drafting and processing of survey data.
  • Meet data quality and production rate standards.
  • Frequently sit for extended periods of time, using hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Utilize close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus to use computer screen.
  • Perform field work as needed, with occasional work out of town.
  • Other duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU NEED:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CAD experience.
  • A desire to learn new technologies, software, hardware, methodologies and assist the LIDAR team to operate with maximum efficiency.
  • Energy, drive, and passion for the transportation division to succeed.
  • Commitment to pay strict attention to details and always be focused on maximizing their production while maintaining quality.
  • Work well with others, be team oriented, helpful and a good problem solver
  • Proficient communication skills: ability to read, write and correspond clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to read, understand and apply technical information form procedure manuals, written and verbal instruction, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Aptness to understand 3D surface modeling and 3D visualization concepts.
  • Capability to identify and clearly communicate problems, issues with data, or instructions.
  • Aptitude to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with multiple variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Willingness to travel at times as needed.
  • Capability to do a lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain and in extreme heat and cold.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in various formats (written, oral, diagram, schedule form, etc.)
  • Must have a valid driver's license, an acceptable motor vehicle record, clean criminal record and negative drug test result.

  • Surveying experience.
  • Proficient computer skills preferred.
  • Experience working with LIDAR data.
  • CAD experience with software tools and packages for Engineering or GIS such as ESRI, AutoCAD, Microstation, Terrasolid or other similar 3D mapping software packages preferred.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
