Manage and administer companywide leave programs, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), disability, statutory leave, miliary, personal, and other leaves.

What you'll do as a Leave Administrator:

  • Manage and administer all types of leaves companywide.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulation across our divisions in all states.
  • Monitor and analyze leave trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
  • Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Evaluate, understand, and implement changes to FMLA and leave regulations, ensuring the organization's
    compliance. Make any necessary adjustments to policies or procedures based on industry trends and changes in federal or state laws.
  • Functions as the subject matter expert for all leave programs. Provide ongoing training and education to HR teams on FMLA leave policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with external vendors who administer FMLA leave.
  • Ensure accurate and timely handling of all leave requests in our Human Capital Management System.
  • Collaborate with various departments including labor relations and legal to ensure seamless leave administration and compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers throughout the leave process to facilitate a smooth and timely return to work.
  • Handle complex questions/situations and provide guidance and training to the HR teams to ensure understanding.
  • Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Coordinate the leave-related payments and benefits with payroll team.
  • Monitor benefit eligibility while teammates are on an extended leave of absence and ensure payment received from teammates for their benefits.
  • Identify trends and make recommendations for continuous process improvements in the administration of all leaves.
  • Lead special projects relating to benefits and/or leave programs.
  • Engage in other duties as needed that support our values.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Leave Administrator:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
  • 3 or more years related experience is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of FMLA, and other federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.
  • Solid understanding of benefits and the impacts to leave administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Workday knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve complex situations.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
