Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Exhibits expertise in all aspects of phlebotomy tech 3 role
  • Exhibits expertise in all aspects of phlebotomy central processing workflow.
  • Exhibits expertise in all aspects of customer service specialist role.
  • Supervises phlebotomy partners, performs and assures training is completed and competency checklists are completed for phlebotomy staff.
  • Conducts partner performance evaluations, assigns tasks and manages phlebotomy work schedule when call ins occur.
  • Interacts with Nursing, Emergency, Outpatient and Occ Med departments as needed.
  • Oversees nursing staff training/competency for decentralized phlebotomy functions including blood glucose monitoring.
  • Management of blood glucose interface including troubleshooting blood glucose interface and blood glucose instruments as necessary.;
  • Manages Breathalyzer program.
  • Maintenance of breathalyzer equipment and provides yearly follow up training on breathalyzer and urine drug screen collection program.
  • Manages phlebotomy/central processing inventory.

Education and Experience

High school diploma. Three years minimum experience in phlebotomy, customer service specialist and central processing roles of the laboratory.


Certification and Licensure

Phlebotomy Certification required or 7 years of phlebotomy experience in lieu of certification.

Directly supervises employees in Phlebotomy. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

PAY RANGE:

$19.79 - $29.68
