Position Summary
The primary role of the University Program Associate ( UPA) is to independently provide consultation and program administrative and clerical support to the assigned academic programs (traditional BSN, PhD, and VAP). The University Program Associate is the procedural expert and is instrumental in planning, analyzing, organizing, and managing daily activities of the assigned programs and department and engaging with and advising students. The program management, transparency and accuracy of the program is necessary to meet the requirements of accrediting agencies and fulfill the goals and objectives set forth in the contract. The UPA also supports the Program Directors, Department Chair, and faculty to assure overall success of the programs. The UPA must be familiar with all aspects of the programs and be able to work independently without supervision. The UPA has knowledge of program policies, procedures, technology, best practices, and their theoretical bases.

The UPA has the ability to interpret and apply a variety of interrelated policies, procedures, and programs for students and faculty and can address non-routine issues. Duties include student advising, developing and managing correspondence to multiple constituencies internal and external to the university; developing and managing student databases; preparing a variety of reports for funding, accreditation and university entities; coordinating and participating in student recruitment and developing miscellaneous projects for the School of Nursing; and other duties as assigned to support the Dean, Associate Deans, or supervisor in the School of Nursing. This position requires the ability to interact with potential and current students and maintains contact with students through graduation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Banner experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
