Full-time 40 hours/week Mon-Fri 8am-5pm or 7:30am-4:30pm Summary: The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Pediatric Medical Subspecialist will provide specialized care to pediatric patients in collaboration with physicians. The APRN will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care and educate families on managing health conditions. In compliance with Ohio regulations, the APRN will maintain licensure, prescriptive authority, and ensure high-quality, evidence-based care. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations. Diagnose and manage a range of pediatric conditions within the subspecialty scope, collaborating with subspecialty physicians as needed. Develop, implement, and modify treatment plans, including prescribing medications, therapies, and other interventions in accordance with Ohio prescriptive authority regulations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other allied healthcare professionals to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Recognize situations that require referral to or consultation with other specialists, and coordinate these services when appropriate.
- Provide patient and family education and guidance on diagnoses, treatment options, medications, procedures, and overall care plans.
- Promote preventive care strategies and healthy lifestyle recommendations tailored to the pediatric population.
- Identify risk factors for disease and illness in pediatric patients and provide appropriate counseling and interventions to reduce risks.
7. Serve as a mentor and resource for other APPs, nursing staff, and medical trainees, providing guidance on clinical decision-making, procedures, and pediatric care best practices. Other information:
- Graduation from an accredited advanced practice registered nurse training program.
- Master's Degree Required.
- Board Certification as a nurse practitioner or certified clinical nurse specialist by nationally accredited organization.
- Current unrestricted Ohio license as a registered nurse.
- Current unrestricted license as an advanced practice registered nurse in the state of Ohio.
- Must obtain/maintain adequate continuing education hours per board requirements.
- Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required. Additional certifications may be required.
- Must obtain credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges.
- DEA for prescriptive authority required.
