*About the Role* We're seeking a highly skilled *Sr. Loan Administration Specialist (Loss Mitigation)* to support a leading financial institution in managing delinquent loan processes, loss mitigation reviews, insurance cancellations, reporting, and quality control. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detailoriented, and experienced in the endtoend delinquency lifecycle.
Work onsite takes place in a *modern, renovated downtown Chicago office within the iconic Old Post Office*, featuring beautiful workspaces, an onsite restaurant, a coffee shop, and free lunches for employees. *Key Responsibilities* *Loss Mitigation & Loan Review* * Manage and process loss mitigation requests from various channels. * Ensure timely processing and adherence to regulatory and investor guidelines. * Review submissions for completeness and accuracy. * Analyze borrower and loan financial data to determine eligibility for mitigation options. * Escalate complex or nonstandard cases to the appropriate investor. * Communicate decisions promptly to servicers. *Customer Service & Inquiry Management* * Use *ServiceNow* to handle inquiries from investors and financial institutions. * Conduct outgoing calls via *Microsoft Teams*. * Provide exceptional customer service with emphasis on onecall resolution. * Document inquiry resolutions thoroughly. *Insurance Cancellation Handling* * Use *eMAQCS Plus* to process mortgage insurance cancellation requests. * Review documentation, communicate decisions, and maintain detailed findings. * Prepare weekly investor reports and update a Microsoft Access database. *Reporting & Data Analysis* * Compile monthly and adhoc reports for investors and financial institutions. * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data accuracy. * Analyze data, summarize findings, and meet strict reporting deadlines. *Quality Control & Training* * Perform QC reviews for loss mitigation requests across loan types (Xtra & Traditional). * Assist with training staff on bestpractice underwriting standards. * Support continuous improvement initiatives and workflow optimization. *Required Experience & Skills* *Must-Have Qualifications* * *4-5+ years of experience* in the delinquency lifecycle (early, mid, late stage, default, loss mitigation, foreclosure prevention, postconveyance). * Experience with *QC*, escalations, and servicing oversight. * Familiarity with *FNMA systems*, including: * SMDU (Servicing Management Default Underwriter) * LSDU (Loan Servicing Data Utility) * Property360 * AMN (Asset Management Network) * Loss mitigation experience: modifications, forbearance, repayment plans, deferrals. * Delinquency reporting experience and understanding of associated codes. * Ability to manage large data sets, identify patterns, and perform analytical reviews. * Customer service experience (phone + ServiceNow ticketing). *Technical Requirements* * Strong proficiency in *Microsoft Office*, especially: * Excel * Access (extensive knowledge required) * Outlook, Teams, and Word * Ability to learn mortgage systems quickly; fast learner with strong technical aptitude. *Soft Skills* * Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening). * Exceptional attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and handle ambiguous situations. * Reliable, high integrity, dependable. * Effective time management and prioritization skills. *Education* * Bachelor's degree preferred. *Why This Role is Attractive* * Work in a *beautifully renovated downtown office* in a historic building. * Onsite amenities include a restaurant and coffee shop. * *Free lunches* offered to employees. * Opportunity to work for a respected financial institution supporting mortgage lending and community investment. * Potential for longterm extension depending on performance and location. *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
