We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented *Patient Access Representative* to support multiple patient-facing departments, including Admitting, the Emergency Department, and additional outpatient/pavilion areas. This role plays a key part in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for patients and families during their visit.
*Key Responsibilities* * Warmly greet and assist patients and families upon arrival * Update patient demographics accurately and confidentially * Verify insurance eligibility and coverage * Collect co-pays and process payments * Obtain required consents (in-person, phone, judicial, etc.) * Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record * Provide support to departments throughout the facility * Document all interactions with accuracy and professionalism * Facilitate patient admissions across hospital and pavilion locations * Perform additional duties as assigned *Emergency Department (ED)* Monday -Friday and every other weekend ( 40 hour work weeks!) *8:00 AM - 4:30 PM* - Every other weekend required *9:00 AM - 5:30 PM* - Every other weekend required *3:00 PM - 11:30 PM* - Every other weekend required *11:00 PM - 7:30 AM* - Every other weekend required *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Norfolk, VA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
