Project Accountant
Location: Grand Rapids, MI Job Summary
Fishbeck is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our accounting department in our Grand Rapids, MI office. This entry-level role will support our project billing and accounting processes, working closely with project managers and the accounting team. The position is ideal for someone starting their accounting career who enjoys working with numbers, staying organized, and learning in a collaborative environment. Assist with preparing billing information for project managers.
Help maintain project records, including contracts, change orders, and other documentation.
Support accurate and timely invoicing, collections tracking, and cost reporting.
Provide basic project accounting support such as expense entry and data checks.
Assist with preparing monthly reports for project managers.
Support year-end audit processes as needed.
Help with setting up new projects in accounting systems.
Assist with job closeout tasks.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, read printed and digital materials, and communicate in person or over the phone. Accommodations may be made for otherwise qualified individuals. Desired Education
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent coursework/experience). Desired Skills/Experience
Internship, co-op, or up to 1-2 years of accounting or administrative experience preferred (not required).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Comfortable learning new software; experience with accounting systems is a plus.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team.
Experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) billing or projects is a plus.
