Job Summary

The Cable Harness Assembler is responsible for assembling and testing cable harnesses and related components in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards. This role involves working from wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering instructions to perform precise assembly tasks, including soldering, crimping, and connector installation. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to perform both repetitive and complex assembly operations while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Job Responsibilities




  • Assemble cable harnesses using wiring diagrams, schematics, and form boards.



  • Perform soldering, crimping, and connector installation in accordance with established standards.



  • Torque backshells and complete assemblies to meet required specifications.



  • Interpret technical drawings and written engineering instructions to complete assembly tasks accurately.



  • Perform a range of assembly operations on electronic and mechanical components, including modules, panels, frames, and cables.



  • Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and fixtures to complete assembly processes.



  • Conduct continuity checks on in-process and completed assemblies to ensure functionality and quality.



  • Inspect assemblies to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.



  • Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble components as needed, including prototype or experimental assemblies.



  • Support testing activities under simulated conditions to validate assembly performance.




Job Requirements




  • Hands-on experience with cable harness assembly is required.



  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.



  • Experience with soldering, crimping, and connector installation techniques.



  • Familiarity with industry standards for electronic assembly, including IPC Class 3 guidelines.



  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.



  • Ability to perform both repetitive and non-repetitive assembly tasks.



  • Basic knowledge of electrical testing methods, including continuity checks.



  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.



  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
