A South Bay manufacturer is looking for a SEC Reporting Manager to join their team. In this role, the SEC Reporting Manager will be responsible for technical accounting, technical research and memos, and 10K and 10Q financial reporting filing. What do you need for this SEC Reporting Manager position?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 8+ years of technical accounting and/or financial reporting experience
  • SEC reporting experience (from industry and/or public accounting)
  • Public accounting experience
  • Active CPA
What will you do in this SEC Reporting Manager position?
  • Track and evaluate new business initiatives across entities, including joint ventures, strategic partnerships, third-party investments, and new revenue streams.
  • Identify, assess, and communicate accounting and financial reporting implications and risks.
  • Develop and manage project timelines related to technical accounting analysis, documentation, and coordination with external auditors.
  • Provide technical accounting support to accounting, finance, planning, business, and IT teams to help implement accounting and reporting solutions.
  • Prepare accounting memoranda outlining transaction structures, contractual arrangements, accounting considerations, applicable guidance, and potential reporting alternatives.
  • Present recommended accounting treatments and reporting approaches to internal management and external auditors.
  • Advise on newly issued accounting standards, including evaluating the impact of adoption and outlining implementation steps.
  • Monitor developments in U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations to ensure compliance with evolving filing and disclosure requirements.
  • Establish implementation timelines for new or revised SEC rules and requirements.
  • Advise on regulatory changes that may materially impact the company's SEC filings.
  • Coordinate the preparation of responses to SEC Comment Letters, working with SEC counsel to meet required response deadlines.
  • Support the preparation and review of Forms 10-Q and 10-K to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Monitor developments from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and evaluate potential impacts.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies.
  • Prepare technical accounting position papers and present findings to senior management.
  • Present accounting positions to external auditors and support discussions or resolution if matters escalate.
  • Provide implementation guidance related to new accounting standards to accounting, finance, planning, business, and IT teams.
  • Advise on the implications of new or revised accounting standards and coordinate adoption and implementation activities.
  • Periodically review and update accounting policies to ensure alignment with current accounting standards and guidance.
  • Partner with the Consolidation Group to oversee financial reporting prepared by various entities and ensure compliance with IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
  • Review financial reporting packages for completeness and accuracy.
  • Support higher-risk stand-alone and consolidated deliverables, including footnote disclosures used in quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K).
  • Assist with ensuring reporting compliance during the quarterly financial close process.
