Job Summary:
The Shipping Technician I is responsible for supporting LaserMix gas cylinder manufacturing through safe, efficient, and effective final package inspection utilizing high-pressure Helium check, chemical / physical valve cleaning, cylinder painting, and final preparation labeling and inspection practices to meet all customer demands and expectations of the Coolbaugh Electronics and Specialty Gas production facility. The Shipping Technician I is responsible to operate in compliance with all Messer internal requirements in a safe and efficient manner and reports to the Shipping Team Lead. It is expected that the Shipping Technician I will focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement to support Messer's overall manufacturing structure while meeting customer needs.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Responsible for safe, reliable, and successful operation of Shipping / Final Prep processes utilized in the final inspection and delivery of high-pressure Laser Gas cylinder packages
- Operate forklifts for the unloading and loading of straight trucks and tractor trailers
- Perform various SAP Transactions to document production throughput and work order flow
- Perform tasks associated with stock and sales order realization including cylinder dedication, record recording, data management, record handling
- Operate paint booth to spray paint cylinders
- Ensure all orders are shipped on time and paperwork is 100% accurate
- Ensure all original work tickets, folders, and bills of lading are processed each day for manifesting and filing
- Keep an ample inventory on all forms, labels, and other supplies as needed
- Perform goods receipts in SAP for material receiving and inventory materials accordingly
- Notify Shipping Coordinator / Team Lead of progress and challenges
- Ensure package, labelling, and markings are in accordance with DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations
- Independently operate and maintain proficiency on all Final Prep processes
- Collect and record basic process data to ensure process optimization and product quality
- Execute Shipping department safety initiatives (Golden Rules, Safer Together, etc.)
- Coordinate work transfer efficiently and effectively from analytical lab department
- Assist in the improvement of Shipping / Final Prep methods and documentation
- Participate in development of new and modified Shipping / Final Prep production processes
- Interface effectively with Plant Management, Engineering, Safety and Quality Team members regarding production, safety, and quality concerns or issues
- Perform other plant inventory and related processes assigned by the Shipping Team Lead / Shipping Coordinator
- Maintain trainings, qualifications and certifications necessary, both internally and externally, needed to support the goals and needs of the Shipping team
- Adhere to all company policies, safety, and standard operating procedures-report promptly to Plant Management any persons deemed not in compliance
- Attend scheduled department and plant training meetings
- Positively support and demonstrate safety and quality procedural compliance to keep team focused and prevent complacency
Required Skills:
- Basic computer skills including word and data processing tools
- Ability to perform basic mathematic skills including unit conversions
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift 75 lbs
