SkyWater is hiring a Process Sustaining Manager to be accountable for ensuring the department's process engineers and sustainers deliver best-in-class performance, with a strong focus on problem solving, driving continuous improvement, and developing innovative technologies. The manager is also expected to provide clear vision and direction to the module, aligning the team's efforts with organizational goals.



Major Areas of Accountability:



  • Lead an engineering team to optimize manufacturing processes, improve yield, and ensure quality through strong technical expertise and leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement in process capability / stability (Cpk), and controls to minimize variability, reduce cycle time, and improve tool-to-tool matching.
  • Lead cross-functional task force meetings to resolve complex issues and make data-driven engineering decisions in a complex mix of low and high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate across organizations to strengthen processes, enhance teamwork, and enable operational excellence.
  • Partner with Advanced Technology Services (ATS) to RAMP new customer devices and technologies.
  • Ensure timely dispositioning of lots, completion of 3D and 8D activities with-in the module.
  • Define strategy, vision, and actionable plans to reduce cost, complexity, variability, and waste.
  • Resolve process excursions and drive permanent corrective actions through robust Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology.
  • Operate with minimal supervision, effectively balancing multiple priorities to meet factory objectives.



Required Qualifications:



  • Education: B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or another relevant engineering discipline.


  • Experience: 10-12 years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment, including a minimum of 3 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Strong technical background with solid understanding of metrology modules.
  • Experience with application of structured problem solving methodology.
  • Hands-on experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis.
  • Highly energetic, positive mind-set, self-motivated, and skilled in building positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and deliver results.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously and shift priorities to meet business needs.
  • U.S. Person Required: This position requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All accepted applicants must be U.S. Persons. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Knowledge of FDC / SPC.
  • Metrology process development and / or sustaining experience.

The annual salary range for this role is $136,960 - $205,440. Pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, the job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials of each candidate.
