Aerospace Sr. Production Supervisor

PPG's Aerospace Business is looking for an experienced Sr. Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations for F-35 fighter jet canopies at our Grand Prairie facility. In this role you will you will coordinate the production processes andleadany troubleshooting, scheduling, and supply chain activities across cell areas. You will be an integral part of the operation and have extensive interaction with production staff, and key leadership members of the plant.

You will work onsite at our Grand Prairie, TX plant and report to the Sr. Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieves all production objectives through accurate planning to meet production schedules and deliver high-quality products that meet specifications and PPG's standards.

• Supervise the shift production teams. Ensure that each team member follows all company policies and procedures regarding safety, health, and the environment and that vital training programs are in place to ensure that all applicable standards are met.

• Review work instructions to ensure shop floor operators have accurate and complete instructions and, if necessary, recommendation changes.

• Identify and/or tackle problems related to production process/flow and provide production reports to assist process improvement.

• Ensure accurate use of tools, equipment, and materials used within the production department while maintaining a safe and clean working environment to ensure the safety of all employees.

• Help set daily/weekly goals with the scheduling team and communicate any/all blockers.

• Coordinate and communicate requirements with Procurement to ensure that materials are purchased or expedited in the appropriate quantities and timeframe to meet production needs.

• Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning staffing; accomplish work results; establish priorities; supervise progress; revise schedules; resolve problems; report results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

• Perform root cause analysis and the implementation of corresponding corrective action plans.

• Coordinate with engineering and other departments to minimize production interruptions.

• Meet tight production schedules to achieve high-rate production.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred.

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior aerospace experience.

• Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.

• Knowledge of aerospace quality systems (AS9100) and military specifications

• Experience with complex transparency or optical systems manufacturing.

• Understanding of airworthiness requirements and military aerospace standards.

• Experience with fighter aircraft components or defense contracting preferred.

• Knowledge of advanced coatings systems and aerospace transparencies helpful.

• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience a bonus.

• May need to work some Saturdays, minor variation in the schedule(s), and additional hours as needed.
