Salary: $18 - $20 per hour

Position Summary:

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Technical Support Scientist Intern to work with our Technical Support team in Carlsbad, CA. In this role, you will assist with laboratory-based activities, application support tasks, and operational processes that ensure analytical instrumentation is functioning at a high level. You will work under the guidance of experienced technical staff while gaining exposure to how scientific instruments are applied in real-world scenarios and how technical teams support both internal stakeholders and customer-facing initiatives.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Assist with data collection and analysis using analytical instrumentation
• Support application development activities under guidance of technical staff
• Prepare standards and samples following established laboratory procedures (SOPs)
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure precision in laboratory work
• Follow all laboratory safety and compliance protocols
• Assist in maintaining instrumentation readiness and operational condition
• Support inventory and asset management processes

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline
• Basic understanding of laboratory practices and scientific instrumentation
• Strong attention to detail and process discipline
• Experience with Shimadzu instrumentation is a plus
• Prior analytical or laboratory experience preferred
