18 Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to manage and lead the Integrated System Planning (ISP) team responsible for: the development of CPS Energy's 25-year long-range integrated system plan, short- and long-term data integration, performing forward looking analysis, to include integration of system and financial data enabling and informing critical business decisions. This role centers on advanced modeling and analysis using varying software tools such as PSSE, PLEXOS, and Aurora to support power flow studies, capacity expansion, production cost modeling, resource adequacy, and load forecasting. In addition to deep technical and analytical responsibilities, the role is also supporting public-facing business plan strategies, requiring strong communication skills to engage effectively with regulators and industry peers. The leader of ISP will also be responsible for the development of a comprehensive plan across generation, transmission, distribution, natural gas and customer side systems, realizing the most reliable, cost-effective, reliable, decarbonized approach to serve the community. This leader will also prepare and provide materials that are presented to the CEO Direct Reports, the Board of Trustees, and City of San Antonio staff. Tasks and Responsibilities
Responsible for optimizing system build-out plans with native load growth, evolving regulatory and federal markets, and development of a long-term integrated system planning team, and maturing the (technical and strategic) teams' ability to interpret and understand multiple data sets. Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Experience in the areas of engineering, analytics, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, or other similar or quantitative field with knowledge of ERCOT Market.
Demonstrated understanding of federal and regulatory agencies and ability to interpret and anticipate impact on long term impact on the electric and gas utility.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers and or analytical team members through ambiguous and complex environments.
Excellent planning, problem solving, & analytical skills, with demonstrated track record of progressively complex analytical assignments and experiences in the areas of engineering, finance, accounting, economics, or other analytical business disciplines.
Ability to stay organized, prioritize objectives in a dynamic, challenging environment.
Ability to diagnose complex information, while identifying pertinent information to facilitate the decision making process.
Ability to lead team through statistical principles and the ability to analyze complex sets of data/information (e.g., regression analysis, time series, rolling forecast, recommendations improving system performance, maximize financial investment etc.)
Ability to think strategically and operate effectively with Senior Leadership.
Ability to articulate the business problem to be analyzed, quickly identify the critical elements of the problem, achieve a high quality answer in a timely fashion, and synthesize answers that resonate with decision makers.
Ability to work with complex data sets of information producing high quality output, which is foundationally sound, and all data sets are well documented and free of any egregious assumptions and delivered in a timely manner.
Capable of effectively communicating complex ideas and analysis verbally, in document format (like MS Word), and in presentation format (like MS Power Point)
Ability to provide a high degree of service to CPS Energy internal customers in responding to business planning and operational analysis needs of the business.
Ability to handle confidential and/or competitively sensitive data.
Ability to deliver results with minimal oversight, both independently and as part of a team.
Strong utility industry knowledge, i.e. Generation, Transmission, Distribution.
Track record of achievement in professional and / or personal pursuits.
Excellent understanding of the ERCOT Market and Federal and Regulatory agencies, strategic planning, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Also, possess a demonstrated track record of executing complex analytical assignments and experiences in the areas of engineering, finance, accounting, economics, or other analytical business disciplines.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high profile environment with tight deadlines.
Ability to negotiate with others and use informal influence to achieve desired business outcomes and resolve conflicts. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, accounting, finance, economics, math, or other quantitative fields from an accredited university, combined with applicable work experience. Required Certifications
Working Environment

Ability to travel to and from meetings, industry conferences and training sessions or other business-related events. After hours work may be required. Physical Demands
