This is a full-time, Field Tech 1 position located in Peoria, IL, Monday - Thursday, from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Compensation:$17.00 per hour

The salary for this position reflects a variety of factors. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal equity. Market conditions, budgetary considerations, and organizational compensation guidelines may also influence the final offer.

Join us as a Field Technician I, where you'll support the collection, processing, and maintenance of environmental samples across air, soil, water, and related areas. You'll receive comprehensive training to help you succeed and grow within our environmental field services team.

What You'll Do

* Perform field services including sample collection, condition review, test kit completion, and accurate documentation of results.
* Pick up, transport, and deliver samples, results, documents, and materials as needed.
* Prepare field vehicles and equipment for daily operations, ensuring proper supplies, documentation, and safety readiness.
* Review, complete, and maintain logs, forms, databases, and related documentation.
* Provide support to staff and management regarding field procedures, policies, and practices.
* Research issues and offer recommendations to resolve customer, operations, or technical concerns.
* Assist with the implementation and review of field/environmental procedures, helping ensure operational accuracy and quality.
* Support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
* Contribute to team effectiveness by offering suggestions and actively participating in workflow improvements.
* Demonstrate courteous, professional behavior aligned with Pace values and promote a positive work environment.

What You'll Bring

* High school diploma or equivalent; one year of experience in a lab or environmental setting preferred, but not required.
* Valid Driver's License and the ability to maintain required licenses or certifications.
* Knowledge of basic field/environmental support principles and field sampling practices.
* Understanding of customer service, safe driving practices, and daily field administration activities.
* Ability to learn and apply Pace procedures for sample handling and maintenance.
* Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry.
* Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Ability to communicate effectively with staff, coworkers, and customers.
* Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
* Ability to maintain accurate records, manage documentation, and follow established procedures.
* Ability to contribute to team goals and maintain effective working relationships.

Mobility to safely operate a motor vehicle and exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed outside, in the office, and lab settings. Work is subject to travel, weather conditions, exposure to blood or bodily fluids, chemicals, fumes, gases, noxious odors, and related items in a lab and environmental setting.
