Overview
The Manager, Safety Compliance is responsible for maintaining accurate driver qualifications files, drug testing compliance, and driver logs for all drivers within your assigned region. This role ensures that all safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies are followed to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. The Safety Compliance Manager works closely with leadership, employees, and regulatory agencies to minimize risks, and foster a culture of safety.
Responsibilities
Maintain and audit Driver Qualification Files (DQFs) in accordance with 49 CFR Part 391, ensuring all required documents are current, complete, and audit-ready at all times
- Manage and maintain the DOT drug and alcohol testing program including per-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing in compliance with 49 CFR Part 382
- Maintain the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse queries for all applicable drivers in compliance with FMCSA requirements
- Maintain Driver Certifications and proactively contact drivers to renew certifications
- Ensure new driver onboarding documentation meets all FMCSA requirements prior to a driver operating a commercial vehicle
- Address Driver Log Violations with Driver, and applicable operations staff when needed
- Monitor FMCSA CSA scores and roadside inspection reports across the region, identifying trends and working with operations to address recurring violations
- Visit sites within the Region on a quarterly basis to ensure ongoing training conducted
- Schedule Physicals and Track Sleep Apnea Compliance for Drivers
- Ensure Driver with non-compliance are removed from service and cleared before returning to service
- Serve as the regional point of contact for safety compliance questions from drivers, operations staff, and management
- Assist with Accident Investigations and pull drive cam footage as needed
- Conduct Quality Control of Driver Training within the Region
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in safety, compliance, or risk management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to effectively interact with various styles and levels of management
- Ability to solve problems and act in a decisive way to achieve results
- Must be able to meet deadlines and multi-task
- Experience with FMCSA & CVSA Regulations and Rules Preferred
- Experience with safety management software, ELD platforms, and telematics reporting
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Available for minimal travel within the region

Compensation Range
USD $59,000.00 - USD $84,000.00 /Yr.
