VS (Vehicle component Solutions) Company (https://www.lg.com/global/mobility) of LG Electronics focuses on commercializing environmentally responsible automotive components and core solutions based on LG's proprietary technologies. A leading provider of core components for global car manufacturers, VS Company is supporting the emerging trend of the vehicle industry.

The Quality Engineer serves as a primary point of contact for customer-related quality issues, ensuring timely follow-up and effective issue resolution. This role supports warranty and plant claim analysis using statistical tools and structured problem solving methods to identify trends and drive improvements. The Quality Engineer I coordinates process related activities with customers and partners with internal teams to address technical concerns, particularly those involving Telematics/Infotainment systems. Responsibilities also include conducting detailed analysis, such as in vehicle testing and onsite liaison activities, to help identify root causes and contribute to continuous product quality improvement.
Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the initial contact for customer quality issues, ensuring prompt communication, issue tracking, and follow?up
  • Utilize statistical tools and structured problem?solving techniques to analyze warranty and plant claims, identifying recurring trends and improvement opportunities
  • Conduct follow-up activities to verify corrective action effectiveness and maintain accurate documentation
  • Coordinate process change activities with customers to support quality objectives and ensure alignment with requirements
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Sales, and Materials teams in evaluating and documenting external failure costs
  • Support cross-functional engineering teams in resolving technical and repair issues related to Telematics/Infotainment systems
  • Assist with the analysis of customer-reported failures and contribute to root-cause investigations
  • Perform hardware and software investigations, including DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) analysis, bench testing, log data capture, and PCB component review
  • Conduct in?vehicle testing as required, which may involve local and out?of?state travel
  • Participate in weekly customer product development or quality review meetings by providing updates and technical findings
  • Support onsite liaison activities to facilitate effective communication and help address customer quality concerns
  • Assist in implementing processes and procedures that ensure the shipment of high-quality products to customers
  • Provide support to local inspection facilities conducting product quality testing or containment activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications
Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Korean

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic and international)


Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:


  • Role involves work with X?ray equipment and thermal chambers for product testing across temperature conditions
  • Ability to lift and move boxes or equipment up to 20 pounds


Preferred:


  • One or more years of experience in automotive electronics, including ECU testing and system?level integration
  • Familiarity with logging and diagnostic tools such as QXDM, QPST, Wireshark, VehicleSpy, CANalyzer tools, or similar
  • Experience supporting large?scale production environments, including Control Plans, PFMEAs, and process controls
  • Working knowledge of statistical and problem?solving tools such as Minitab, Power BI, Six Sigma, and 8D methodologies
  • Experience performing product failure analysis and root cause investigations for both software and hardware issues

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar quality certification
