Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Equipment & Materials Procurement Technician to work on our Nuclear Material Acquisition team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off. At Idaho National Laboratory, you'll activate and fulfill orders using blanket ordering agreements, purchase cards, and computer material ordering systems. You will collaborate with vendors, buyers, planners, and customers to facilitate timely delivery of materials and services and interpret technical specifications to integrate requirements into procurement documents. You'll provide status updates on orders, support nuclear grade procurements, assist with kitting and staging activities, and deliver strong customer service to customers at the Materials and Fuels Complex. This position is located at our Materials and Fuels Complex, which hosts the core of the U.S. nuclear research and development capabilities with a diverse array of facilities designed for research on highly irradiated fuels and materials. At the Materials and Fuels Complex you will be a part of a team supporting nuclear facilities that advance nuclear energy. Your skills will also support advanced reactor demonstration through understanding procurement needs and delivering materials in a efficient manner. Many groups, such as universities, industry partners, other national laboratories, international research organizations, and other federal agencies are working at MFC. Physical Requirements: The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, operate a computer keyboard or type, handle materials, or reach with hands and arms performing the essential functions of the classification. The duties require sitting for long periods, moving and organizing materials. The employee must occasionally lift 25 pounds.
