Mission Engineer and Integrator This is a proposal requisition. Work will begin only if the contract is awarded. Orbis is looking for a Mission Engineer and Integrator to support mission planning and execution in the Washington Metro Area. The role provides operational engineering expertise to translate requirements into actionable CONOPs, integrate technical capabilities, and support pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment activities to ensure mission success. Duties/Responsibilities * Assist Sponsor personnel in reviewing, defining, and clarifying operational requirements; translate needs into actionable technical tasks and milestones. * Analyze targets and collection requirements to identify appropriate technologies, capabilities, systems, and equipment to meet operational objectives. * Develop and update Concepts of Operations (CONOPs), with attention to technical and operational constraints, mission contingencies, and system troubleshooting procedures. * Provide operational input to the development and integration of new systems, capabilities, and equipment, coordinate with System Integrators and Systems Engineers. * Perform trade studies and assessments using testing/evaluation lessons learned and operational feedback; recommend system modifications or upgrades. * Identify end-to-end capability gaps affecting usability and operability; propose risk mitigations and improvements to enhance mission effectiveness. * Support pre-deployment checkout of systems and equipment; assist with deployment and post-deployment performance monitoring and issue resolution. * Prepare clear briefings and reports; coordinate with mission partners and stakeholders to align engineering activities with priorities. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Required Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree in engineering, systems, computer science, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * 2+ years of experience providing engineering-related support and/or mission engineering/integration in government or mission-focused environments. * Experience developing or contributing to CONOPs, operational procedures, or technical documentation. Preferred Education and Experience (not required to apply) * Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline. * 5+ years' experience in the Intelligence Community and/or supporting mission operations. * Overseas field experience supporting HUMINT and/or technical collection operations. * Regional or functional expertise aligned to Sponsor priorities. * Operational certifications relevant to mission engineering or technical operations. Required Skills & Abilities * U.S. Citizenship. * Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments. * Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to brief stakeholders and produce concise documentation. * Proven collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams and with government stakeholders. Preferred Skills & Abilities * Functional ability in one or more of the following languages: Eastern European languages or Middle Eastern, or East Asian languages. * Experience coordinating with mission partners and external vendors to align operational requirements and technical delivery. Physical Requirements * Prolonged periods working at a computer; routine video conferences and/or in-person meetings. * Ability to attend planned meetings across the Washington Metro Area.
