As a Laboratory Technician, you'll provide technical support to quality and process control, environmental monitoring, and process development.

What you'll do:

  • Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and apparatus; prepares solutions, reagents and sample formulations.
  • Compiles, records and interprets experimental or analytical results.
  • Provides chemical technical support for waste water treatment.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares process control specimens for production personnel per Laboratory Standard Operations.

Position Requirements:

  • Good organizational, analytical, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes and instructions.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory software.
  • Prior, or current experience in operating specialized equipment, including microscopes, spectrometers and hardness testers
  • Experience in performing failure analysis and material characterization.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to high school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
  • The person requires an ability to understand, utilize and communicate specialized information in speech and written text.
  • Prior or current CCL (Central Coating Laboratory ) specialized training or certification.
  • Directly/indirectly related work experience representing continuous learning and required for someone to perform this job competently is one to three years.
  • Ongoing work assignments typically have clearly defined goals. The incumbent's education, training, and previous experience ensure work assignments are successfully carried out because candidate understands what is expected.
  • Willingness to learn and receptive to continuous improvement through OJT and external educational opportunities.
