Position Summary
The position of postbaccalaureate lab coordinator position is essential for the successful completion of an NIH-funded study examining motivational processes underlying recovery from alcohol use disorder following participation in Dry January and Sober October. This study involves human-subjects research activities that require sustained, day-to-day coordination.
The lab coordinator will play a central role in overseeing all operational aspects of the study, including participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, and interviewing. Given the study's reliance on timely enrollment and longitudinal data collection, a dedicated coordinator is necessary to maintain participant engagement and ensure adherence to NIH-approved protocols. The coordinator will also be responsible for creating and programming study surveys, managing and processing large datasets, and maintaining accurate research records in compliance with institutional and federal regulations.
In addition to supporting the NIH-funded project, the lab coordinator will contribute to other ongoing research initiatives in the lab, including studies on New Year's resolutions for health behavior change and alcohol-related cancer risk. These projects similarly require coordination of human-subjects research activities, data management, and support for dissemination efforts.
Overall, the postbaccalaureate lab coordinator will provide critical infrastructure for the lab's research mission, increasing efficiency, ensuring data quality, and enabling the PI to focus on study design, analysis, and dissemination. This position is therefore necessary to meet the scientific aims, regulatory requirements, and timelines of the funded research and to support the lab's broader program of research on health behavior change and alcohol-related outcomes.
