Technical Writer

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Lead Cyber Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will develop, write, and manage technical and promotional content focused on Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, Zero Trust, and security solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong writing skills with technical acumen to translate complex cybersecurity concepts. Provide technical edits to engineering documentation, software documentation, manuals, reports, or presentations. Use expertise in writing, editing, and communication to analyze and present complex information in a format that is easy to read and understand. Leverage expertise in scientific and technical subject matter, documentation content, and requirements.

Content Creation and Development

  • Write, edit, and validate technical and promotional materials, including white papers, battle cards, product sheets, customer case studies, data sheets, and technical briefs focused on MDR and advanced cybersecurity offerings.

  • Develop engaging content for digital platforms such as websites, social media, email campaigns, and other online communications.

  • Create multimedia presentations and assets, such as slides, infographics, and videos, that clearly convey technical capabilities, benefits, and differentiators within the MDR space.

  • Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, maintains messaging consistency, and adheres to company standards.

Technical Writing and Analysis

  • Analyze and interpret complex cyber-related requirements to produce accurate and audience-appropriate content.

  • Translate technical specifications into clear and accessible language tailored to various audience segments.

  • Collaborate closely with cybersecurity SMEs, SOC analysts, product managers, and sales engineers to ensure accuracy and thought leadership credibility.

Content Strategy and Management

  • Maintain content calendars and ensure timely delivery of all marketing materials.

  • Review and update existing content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and ongoing relevance.

  • Measure content performance and provide data-driven recommendations for optimization and improvement.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Technical Writer

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting complex cyber requirements to produce accurate and audience appropriate content

  • Experience working with technical subject matter experts

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite tools including PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Visio

  • Ability to lead meetings with SMEs and leadership to discuss technical documentation topics and issues

  • Ability to communicate effectively including in written format and organize activities

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience supporting design initiatives for governance models, Cyber policy, or business process updates and improvements

  • Experience analyzing project-specific business metrics including procurement data, staffing data, or financial data

  • Ability to visualize and describe processes and methodologies

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
