What You Can Expect

The Project Development Intern will support the development of greenfield through mid-stage projects across the renewable energy portfolio. This role provides hands on experience in early-stage project assessment, community engagement research, permitting support, and project documentation. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to real world project development activities.

What You Will Do

Project Research & Due Diligence



  • Conduct research and due diligence on development-stage projects, including community sentiment, market conditions, land use, and local considerations
  • Support analysis of permitting requirements, environmental constraints, timelines, and jurisdictional processes


Stakeholder & Community Analysis



  • Assist with stakeholder identification and community analysis, including preparing summaries and mapping materials


Project Documentation & Development Support



  • Maintain and update project documentation, trackers, permitting schedules, and development checklists
  • Contribute to presentations, reports, and internal briefings related to project status and milestones
  • Collaborate with internal teams by gathering data, coordinating tasks, and participating in team meetings



What You'll Bring



  • Enrollment in a relevant degree program such as Environmental Science, Geography, Sustainability, Engineering, Public Policy, Business, or a related field
  • Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to synthesize information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with Power BI, data visualization, or dashboards is a nice to have
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in renewable energy, infrastructure development, or environmental permitting
  • (Nice to have) Exposure to GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS), public records research, or community engagement topics



Additional Details



  • The Summer internship work term will be from June 1, 2026, to August 28, 2026. The Intern will have the opportunity to work for up to 40 hours per week during this period
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy in our Houston, TX office and is not eligible for remote working
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies



Compensation

Hourly Range: $25.50 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
