Main Duties & Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Project Engineer reports to the Engineering
Manager or Director of Engineering.
He/she is responsible for overall project management including tooling,
automation, solid modeling and launch of injection molded products/programs. This position is responsible
for working with all supporting departments to successfully launch new programs
meeting internal and external expectations within the predetermined time frame.
This position requires leadership skills to work closely with customers, process engineering, external and internal tooling, quality and production team.
- Communicate adjustments to the original project timelines to ensure compliance.
- Project profitability are to be tracked through the internal accounting project tracking system.
- Accountable for OEE plant performance.
- Perform as technical liaison to customers on all related program activity.
- Manage mold builds and communicate project management and engineering changes on both new and existing projects.
- Assist in BOM construction and sustaining compliance to ensure OEE standards our accurate.
- Offer solid modeling support for design concepts and internal/external tooling changes.
- Leadership support in trouble shooting/ debugging new programs.
- Adherence to ISO procedures.
- Assist in quality CAPAs.
- Utilize continuous improvement, lean and six sigma tools to reach OEE standards.
- Provide quoting support for new and existing products.
This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Clinton Township, MI location.
Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience with plastics or related manufacturing discipline desired
- Experience in the medical device industry or ISO environment is desirable
- Experience in the injection molding industry is desirable
- Experience using Solidworks desired
- Driven, self-motivated
- Change agent and bias for action with a positive attitude
- Organized and able to bring projects to a successful conclusion
- Strong communication & presentation skills
- Strong problem solving and lean manufacturing skills
- Process & results driven
- Innovative, inspiring, and able to work in a consultative relationship throughout the organization
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline preferred
- Formal Education in Six Sigma, Lean, and leadership
preferred
