As a Mechanical Engineer on our Plant Technical Staff, you'll support meaningful, hands-on challenges that go beyond day-to-day engineering, contributing to solutions that enhance the safety, reliability, and performance of our compressor station assets.

This is a developmental position designed for early-career engineers looking to grow their technical expertise and gain practical experience in operations, reliability, and project support. You will work closely with experienced team members while building your knowledge of systems, processes, and industry standards.

In this role, you will support operations through problem-solving, collaboration, and continuous learning. You'll contribute to projects, assist field teams, and develop your technical skillset while gaining exposure to real-world engineering challenges.

Note: Internal job title is Mechanical Engineer

What you will do:

  • Provide technical assistance to field personnel and support identification of process or procedural improvements
  • Learn and apply applicable CFR 192 code requirements and operational standards
  • Support implementation of processes, projects and procedures impacting operations
  • Assist with applying operating procedures to ensure safe and reliable operations
  • Support operational documentation and field audits
  • Support the investigation of failures and reliability issues helping develop solutions.
  • Represent Operations in supporting project teams and various collaborators within the Company.
  • Support the development of O&M and Capital project scopes and budgets to support ongoing operations.
  • Develop full understanding of applicable design standards and maintenance
  • Formulate material and contractor bid specifications. Create service and purchase requisitions; evaluate bids and make material and contractor selections.
  • Conduct reviews and provide approval of engineering designs and changes as part of the Management of Change (MOC) Process.
  • Review and approve gas handling procedures for operational activities.
  • Develop full understanding of compression fleet and how they are applied in system operation.
  • Provide support in emergency response situations and efforts.

Who you are:

You have:

  • 2+ years of experience in the pipeline transmission industry along with a bachelor's degree in engineering

You can:

  • Show the ability to manage numerous projects while showcasing excellent organizational skills

You are:

  • An excellent written and verbal communicator with strong negotiation skills and outstanding digital literacy to use computers and applications

The following are considered assets:

  • Understanding of Natural Gas operation and reliability programs
  • Good technical background. Experience in Facility Integrity, Reliability or Operations
  • Experience leading in a team environment
  • Knowledge of CFR 192 and other relevant codes is a plus

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in typical office environment with large amounts of field time to support and understand Area Operation's Needs. May spend time in the field as required to support projects or area operations (travel time is up to 35%, generally 1 full week at a time)
  • While supporting in the field or operations there will be exposure to hot or cold weather environments that are noisy and dirty at ongoing construction sites. There may also be extensive driving to reach field locations.#LIHybrid #joinourteam

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Company paid international relocation assistance is not offered for this role.
