Job Type: Support Staff - Union Bargaining Unit: SSA Regular/Temporary: Regular Hours Per Week: 35 Salary Range: $46,529.36 - $46,529.36 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Under the supervision of the PI, the Technician A will provide basic research support and perform a wide variety of procedures pertaining to characterization of different knock-out and transgenic models of cancer and metabolic diseases. Responsibilities Perform extensive mouse breeding Perform phenotyping and genotyping Maintain laboratory records Order lab supplies and maintain lab equipment Assist with lab meetings and related communication Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned Minimum Qualifications Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and experience Strong organizational skills Enthusiasm for scientific research Preferred Qualifications Animal handling experience Familiarity with DNA extraction and PCR Other Requirements The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
