We are seeking a Controller in Huntsville, AL, to join a highly dynamic, publicly traded company. This is a hybrid role designed for a hands-on leader who thrives in an environment where priorities shift rapidly and agility is key.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative partner who enjoys working closely with the accounting team while actively engaging with cross-functional departments to drive business objectives. You will be responsible for balancing rigorous compliance and audit readiness with the real-time, evolving demands of our operations.
Team Leadership


  • Provide oversight and prioritization for accounting team in all areas of accounting, including G/L, A/P, A/R, Payroll, and Fixed Assets.
  • Support development and mentoring of staff in a high-demand environment



Financial Close & Reporting


  • Oversee monthly and quarterly close process
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements
  • Manage consolidation inputs and reporting (OneStream)



Government Compliance & Indirect Rates


  • Lead preparation and support of Incurred Cost Submission
  • Maintain and validate indirect rate structures
  • Ensure compliance with the FAR and DCAA expectations
  • Review cost allowability and allocation methodologies
  • Support forward pricing and rate strategy discussions as needed



Audit & SOX Readiness


  • Ensure audit-ready financials and supporting schedules
  • Support SOX implementation and internal controls documentation
  • Identify and remediate control gaps
  • Partner with external auditors and advisors


Systems & Data Integrity


  • Maintain integrity across Costpoint
  • Support data cleanup and mapping initiatives


What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a government contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition * Strong knowledge of indirect rate structures
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting ICE submission
  • Solid understanding of FAR and DCAA compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit-ready financial statements
  • Experience with SOX compliance
  • Experience with sales tax administration, including multi-jurisdiction compliance and filings Experience managing and reconciling intercompany transactions in a multi-entity environment
  • Proficiency with Costpoint and financial reporting/consolidation systems (preferably OneStream)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines in a complex environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Hands-on approach with ability to operate effectively in a lean team structure
