Summary

The Senior Director of Human Resources Global Operations will lead and oversee all human resource activities in the four manufacturing facilities and two distribution centers, as well as Global Engineering and Global Supply Chain, including their activities in our Libertyville, Illinois Head Office. In addition, this person will be a key member of the Global Operations Senior Leadership Team representing HR in all related matters. The individual will be responsible for ensuring efficient and robust manufacturing capabilities from a human resources perspective to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs globally.


The Senior Director Human Resources role is a strategic business partner with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional results by taking a strategic perspective on the development of a high performing Global Operations organizations through appropriate recruitment, succession planning, Associate development, accountability, organization design, communications, and engagement initiatives. The person is a seasoned HR professional with a high degree of mastery and capability who can effectively guide a global HR business partner team, providing the right balance of direction and autonomy. The position will partner with large-scale and complex global projects in order to deliver the Global Operations long-term strategy.


The incumbent will be responsible for providing proactive, strategic and operational HR advice and support in regard to organizational design, capability development, talent management, performance management, recruitment and change management consistent with the company's mission, vision, strategy and culture.


In addition, the person will also be a key member of the Human Resources Leadership Team globally.

Responsibilities


  • Ensure that Hollister's Culture (Immutable Principles and Cultural Beliefs) are evident in all human resource related matters for specific client groups: Global Manufacturing, Global Engineering (GE), Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM), and Continuous Improvement (CI).
  • Provide guidance, support and direction to the six (Snr) HR Managers and their extended teams in all HR related matters, ensuring a consistent approach and service is adopted throughout Global Operations. This includes building and maintaining a strong results-focused Global Operations HR Team with extensive networking and sharing of best practice.
  • Develop and implement effective staffing and organizational design strategies for Global Operations. Drive the internal Succession and Development Planning (DSP) process and partner with the business to drive the actions that build a strong talent pipeline to support and enhance business goals.
  • Provide consultative support to performance planning and management of all Associates ensuring effective utilization of the performance management process (HPM). This will include advice and counsel to senior levels of management on both employee relations and performance issues.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the employee relations and industrial relations strategies at each Global Operations location, through working closely with the local HR Manager and site management.
  • Coach and develop the Global Operations Senior Leadership Team and other functional groups to work as cohesive and effective teams, building on their leadership and management capabilities to drive change and efficiency.
  • Pro-actively contribute to strategic HR initiatives, as an active member of the Human Resources Leadership Team.
  • Develop and implement processes to continually improve the quality and standardization of HR services and programs within Global Operations, including training & development, recruitment methods and HR's championing of the Hollister Production System (HPS), in particular Standard Work.
  • Partner with global HR functions on coordinating the implementation of global HR programs in alignment with Hollister's Talent Management, Total Reward and Culture strategies providing strategic advice and counsel to Hollister management.
  • Utilize employee feedback, data and benchmarking to identify people and organizational related issues and recommend solutions that support the organization and drive the business forward.
  • Cultivate the Hollister Culture. Build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships, particularly with senior management, working toward the achievement of local and global business plans, including an appropriate focus on Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) goals, strategies and action.
  • Partner with internal and external counsel to ensure legal compliance and minimizing company liability by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource legal requirements, in accordance with the HR Delegation of Authority Procedure.
  • Maintain a network of external contacts appropriate to support business needs.
  • Provide HR input, guidance and direction to strategic footprint initiatives, ensuring that appropriate attention is paid to the implications for our Associate groups whilst at the same time achieving strategic goals.
  • Other duties and tasks assigned by their manager.

  • Travel frequently, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.
Education & Work Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of related experience
Education & Work Preferences

  • MBA, MBS or MSc (strongly preferred)
  • In-depth human resources generalist experience with strong knowledge across the core functional areas of recruitment, organizational development, talent management, reward and recognition, employee communications, change management and performance management.
  • Experience working in a multinational business, ideally with a track record of operating effectively in a matrix organization across cultural borders.
  • Self-starter with ability to operate independently.
  • Human Resources leadership experience with a strong track record of coaching and developing a HR business partner management team.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • A coaching and advisory mindset to partner with senior leaders on organizational development and individual matters.

Our Total Rewards package in aggregate is above market and includes competitive pay, paid time off programs, peer-to-peer recognition, health and life insurance, wellness programs and incentives, and generous retirement savings.



  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $188,000 - $269,000 yearly. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.
  • This position is also eligible to participate in the Hollister Corporate Bonus Plan.
